How BrandUnder works

BrandUnder reads a website the way a newcomer would, then checks what it finds. It starts with the homepage, then reads the pages that describe the company, such as About, products, pricing and contact. It also reads robots.txt, the sitemap and structured data, and in the full analysis checks a public knowledge base for independent confirmation.

From evidence to a score

Each observation becomes a signal tied to the exact words or code it came from. Signals are combined into metrics, metrics into three dimensions, and the dimensions into the BrandUnder score. Recommendations are ranked by how much they are likely to help, how sure the evidence is and how much effort they take.

What BrandUnder never does

It never signs in to websites, never reads pages that robots.txt asks it not to, and never invents facts. When the evidence is not enough, the result says unknown.
