Privacy

What we collect

• The website or company name you enter, and the analysis we produce for it.
• Public pages of the analyzed website, read the way a visitor would. We respect robots.txt and never sign in to websites.
• If you create an account: your email address, your name, and a password handled by our authentication provider (we never see it in plain text).
• To prevent abuse, a salted hash of your IP address and the time of each analysis. We don't store raw IP addresses.
• For brands you keep in My brands: the founder context you write, what you mark as done or not relevant, and, if you turn on weekly monitoring, the changes it finds. We email you about important changes unless you turn that off on the brand's page.
• For a Founder Review, anything you choose to tell us about your brand and the profile links you add. All of it is optional.

AI

Parts of the analysis are done with Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. For that, we send Anthropic text from the public pages of the website being analyzed (titles, headings and short excerpts, with personal email addresses masked) and, if you upload one, your screenshot. We don't send your account details, your payment details or the founder context you write. Anthropic doesn't use data sent through its API to train its models.

What the AI concludes is always marked as inferred and has to cite evidence from the website; anything it can't support is left out. The Founder Review is read, edited and sent personally by the founder of brandunder, who may use AI for a first draft based on the analysis and on what you chose to share about your brand; your name and email are not sent to the AI provider, and the AI doesn't open the profile links you add.

Cookies

We use only the cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Payments

Payments for the Brand Deep Dive and the Founder Review are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach us. We keep a record of each purchase (the account and analysis it belongs to, the product, the amount, the currency, the payment status, the email and name you give at checkout and Stripe's reference IDs) to deliver what you bought and answer questions about it. We also keep the Deep Dive generated for you, a Founder Review written for you, and a log of the emails we send you about them.

Sharing

Analyses are private to whoever ran them. A result becomes viewable by others only if you create a share link; shared results are hidden from search engines. We don't sell personal data.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete your account and the analyses linked to it at any time.
